Yosemite, New Snow, Tunnel View• It is a happy photographer that comes through the tunnel in the mountain and finds this view revealed on the other side. Yosemite under a fresh snow is a photographers nirvana. It is always a treat when winter's wonder reach the bottom of the valley. The valley floor is only 3,000 feet above sea level so the valley's moisture usually comes as rain. Many of California's landscape photographers eagerly watch the weather forecast for storms hoping for snow level prediction of snowfall to 3,000 feet hoping for the opportunity to revisit the magic.
Since Ansel Adams made the Tunnel View Overlook famous, photographer flock here winter and summer hoping to capture a "clearing storm" both summer and winter. Winter though is always extra special.
